Fancy Pants' Clear Cuts are transparent die cuts that were inspired by Fancy Pants' ever-popular chipboard sets for scrapbooking. I think this is truly exciting news! I already own the Fancy Pants Biggest Board Book It Chipboard Set. I have slowly been using bits and pieces from the set, but I didn't use the tabbed book yet because there are only 4 pages, and I didn't want to do a mini book that's only 4 pages long. So now that I know that the Fancy Pants Clear Cuts coordinate with these, I have ordered the Tabbed Book Clear Cut Set by Fancy Pants to go with it. My plan is to create an album that is part clear and part chipboard by combining the 2 sets. I am hoping they will work seamlessly together! I haven't received the Fancy Pants Clear Cut Set yet so it's too early for me to try to give you the full report, but I will let you know how it goes. If it works out, you will be seeing it as a featured project on this web page soon.

Update: Well, I got the Fancy Pants Tabbed Book Clear Cut Set in the mail today. The good news: I am THRILLED with it!! If you buy one I think you are going to love it! I am so excited to get started embellishing and altering and decorating it. The bad news: it does not coordinate that well with the Fancy Pants Biggest Board Chipboard "Book It" set like I had hoped. The pages are totally different sizes. I suppose they could still be used together in the same book. It would take some real creativity to make the book look unified, though. I know that "mixed up", mismatched altered books are all the rage right now so I am not totally thinking this is out of the question. The truth is, I am going to give it a bit more thought before I start creating my clear album.

Each one of these Fancy Pants Clear Cuts sets comes with three 0.4 mm transparent sheets. The Manufacturer's Suggested Retail Price (MSRP) is $14.99 per set.

If you are going to purchase Fancy Pants Clear Cuts so you can use them to make your own clear album, I also recommend that you consider getting a Crop-a-dile tool if you don't already have one. The Crop-a-dile will help you punch through the clear cuts quickly and easily. If you are contemplating purchasing this set, seeing this mini album will hopefully give you a better idea of how it looks when made up. One thing to keep in mind is that I didn't use many of the embellishments from the set in that book. However, I really have been using them, just in other projects. The set has a lot of little pieces, and they go a long way. If you buy this I think you will get a lot of use out of it. For example, the 2 little snowflakes on the front cover of this Snowflake Shaped Mini Album are from this Fancy Pants Clear Cuts Die Cut set.
