We are thrilled to introduce you to Jodi Ethington, one of our talented design team members.
Jodi designed the clear album you see pictured here in this blog post; this was her original submission to us when she responded to our design team call.
First of all, I’d like to share with you some of the things that absolutely blew us away about Jodi’s work. Her photos are so full of life and beauty and vibrancy. They held our attention so well that we scarcely noticed the clear album she used! When we stopped to think about that, it occurred to us ~ that’s the whole point of scrapbooking . The photos. The story. We think that the scrapbooking supplies used should be secondary to the actual stories that are unfolding on the pages of your albums. Invisible, if you will. In fact, it became crystal clear to us that the easiest way to keep your supplies from competing with your photos is to use a clear album! We’ve all seen layouts where the patterned papers and embellishments compete with the photos to the point that you have a hard time actually finding the photos at all. We aren’t the scrapbook police, and we’d never want to be the ones to say “Don’t do that!” But, we are definitely in favor of letting the photos shine through in all their glory. We think the photos, the story, the memories should be the main focus. Jodi’s photos, especially, impressed us. We are thrilled to share them with you!
We also loved all the fun little details that Jodi included in this project, like the colorful book rings. They really help to personalize this clear album and make it extra-special. Jodi chose to use a Prima Build-a-Book clear album for this project. We think it was the perfect choice!
